As for string changes, etc. I have 4 guitars with a Bigsby and it takes me maybe an extra five minutes per guitar to change strings.Bend the end of the string to 90 degrees with a pair of pliers, then after attaching to the Bigsby, pull it taught and put a capo on the neck to hold the string in place while you tighten it around the tuning post. THat is probably a little bit of snobbery on my part. If you look at the factory installed Bigsby's on Casino's they use a B7/B70. I cannot stress the importance of a roller tune-o-matic bridge with the bigsby. I've got one on my hollowbody hofner verythin with a bigsby and it stays in tune no matter what I do to the bigsby. permalink
Bigsby makes a model,,, I think it's the B5 or something like that, that will fit on a flat bodied guitar. I've put them on Telecasters before, but never a Jazzmaster.I actually bet it would fit right on a Jazzmaster. The screw holes on the Bigsby look like they're outside of the Jazzmaster trem cavity. I put a B70 on a newer Casino last summer. I had zero problems, just followed the instructions on the Bigsby website and measured everything twice before I drilled.I put a B7 on as I don't like Trapeze tailpieces and I like Bigsbys. Also, I wanted it to look like George Harrisons Casino.
